All course reading materials will be provided to students as digital downloads from DropBox so they can be loaded into the iPad app “Subtext.” We will use Subtext to have discussions “within” these texts as well as ask questions and share resources. In this way, Subtext will serve as our primary “learning management system” in this course.

Reading assignments listed below should be completed after the ‘parent’ class under which they are listed, prior to the next class. Assignments in BOLD are required, others are recommended but optional.

      1. Login to our class blog (userID and password are the same) and change your password
      2. Answer questions in the post “Interactive Writing Assignment Ideas” with a comment.
      3. Write your OWN post on our class blog about a favorite or recommended Spring Break activity in Montana.

      1. Create a 1-3 minute long AudioBoo on our “class channel,” telling a story about why you decided to become a teacher and why you’ve stuck with it. Who or what inspired you? Why have you persevered? (check our Edmodo for the AudioBoo channel userID and password)
      2. Embed your AudioBoo on our KidBlog site. See the post “How to Embed an AudioBoo on a KidBlog Post” for instructions.
  4. Radio Show – 4/11/2013 – 4:30 – 5:30 pm MST
    1. 8: “Story in 5 Photos” draft chapter of “Mapping Media to the Common Core Vol I”
    2. 9: Chapter 5 “Images” of “Playing with Media: simple ideas for powerful sharing
    3. Media assignment 4: Create a short radio show interviewing at least 1 other person using Spreaker DJ, and embed it in a post on our KidBlog site.
